Javanshir Guliyev son of Rahim  was born in Sheki. He graduated from Shaki Music Technical College (1968). In 1968, he entered the tar class of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory. After two years, he transferred to the faculty of composition and studied in the composition class of Covdat Hajiyev (1975). From his student years, he started working as a sound director at the Azerbaijan State Television and Radio Broadcasting Committee (1973-1990). For some time he was the artistic guiiding of the Azerbaijan Concert Union (1990-1993), worked as a teacher at the Academy of Music and the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. At the same time, since 1992, he has been the head of the musical department at the Academic National Drama Theater. Since 2003, he has been an associate professor at the National Conservatory of Azerbaijan, since 2005 he has been a professor, since 2005 he has been a professor at the Faculty of Performing Arts of the Middle East University of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. He composed up to five hundred songs, “Preludes”, “Sonatina” for piano, “Seven plays” for piano made in mugham tones, “Turned” for polyphonic choir, “Schertso” for flute and piano, “Kvartets” for first and second strings, wooden “Kvartet” for wind instruments, “Kvintet” for brass instruments, “Music” for string orchestra and trumpet, “Overture” for symphony orchestra and trumpet, “Sonata” for string and violin, four symphonies for string orchestra, flute and cello “Carvan” trio (2000), “Dastan” (2001) for string orchestra, “Bayati”, “Love Game” (2001) and “Seven Prisoners” operettas for orchestra consisting of musical instruments of the nations of the world (“Atlas” – Netherlands), He wrote music for the ballet “Oguzname” and theater plays (“Lovers in hell” (1991), “Iyda tree” (1992), “Sword that cuts ourselves” (1999), “Gallows tree”, “Aydin” (2000)). He wrote the music for the Georgian film “Ashig Garib” (1988, directed by Sergey Parajanov, David Abashidze). He is a laureate of “Humay” (2000), “Golden Dervish” awards (2001), Honored Artist (1992). He was awarded the “Golden Fairy” award in the nomination “Best original music” for the film “Ambassador of Dawn” (2015).
