Mobil Babayev son of Rashid was born in Ganja. He studied viola and composition at the secondary specialized music school named after Bulbul (1953-1964), and the viola class of the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov (1964-1972). He started composing music while studying at school. Since 1973, he worked as a music editor and editor-in-chief at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. The song “Faithful friend” was awarded the first place in the international song contest “Vilnius castles” (1974, Vilnius). Among his works are “Life ends, the road does not end”, “Symphony No. 3” (1990), “Cantata for soloists, choir and orchestra” (1990), “Let’s go from this place” series for choir and orchestra (1995), “Thoughts” 4-part concerto for orchestra (1999). Honored artist (2007) Mobil Babayev died in 2023.
