Akif  Rustamov son of Zabi was born in Baku. He studied at the directing faculty of the Azerbaijan State Art Institute named after M.A. Aliyev (1968). He has been working at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio since 1968. Director Akif Rustamov was awarded the honorary title of Honored Cultural Worker in 2000.
