Nazim Rza Israfiloglu (Nazim Rzayev son of Israfil /Nazim Israfiloglu) was born in Ganja. In 1945, he moved to Baku with his family. He studied piano at Music School No. 1 (1956), the Cultural and Educational Faculty of the Azerbaijan State Theater Institute (1959-1964), and the Television Directing Faculty of the Leningrad State Theater, Music and Cinematography Institute (1966-1971).
He worked as an artistic guiding in the Palace of Culture named after S. Orjonikidze in the Surakhani region of Baku (1964). In 1966, he started working as a director’s assistant in the dubbing department of Azerbaijan television. At the same time, he cooperated with music, film program, and industry editors. In 1969, he was transferred to the position of film director in the “Screen” creative association. Diploma film “Man saves the Caspian Sea” was awarded at International and All-Union film festivals. Throughout his creativity, he chose the history of Azerbaijan as the main theme. He conducted scientific researches in the field of research and study of Baku oil and world oil history. He regularly wrote journalistic articles in the Azerbaijani press. His books have been published. He worked as the head of the course on “Art of directing and acting” at the Faculty of Television Directing of Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts named after A. Huseynzade (1992-1997). Nazim Reza Israfiloglu died in 2021.
