Ogtay Alakbar oglu Babazade was born in Baku. Studied at Azerbaijan State University (1968), Leningrad State Theater, Music and Cinematography Institute (1979). Since 1959, he has been working at the State Broadcasting Company. He taught at Baku State University and Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts and is an associate professor. Honored artist (2000).
