Rufat Asadov

Rufat Asadov, son of Nadir, was born in Nakhchivan. He studied at the Leningrad Technological University, the Leningrad Academy of Art, the Film School under “Lenfilm” (Alexander Sokurov’s course). He attended the “Producing Documentary Films” course led by American producer Oleg Harrinjar (1999). Internship at “Promatheus Production” film studio located in San Francisco, USA (2000). For some time, he worked at “Lenfilm” in various positions. After returning to Baku, he worked in “New Film” creative association, Azerbaijan television (1994-1996) He was the second director and actor of the film “Mrakovka” (1993, directed by V. Burbano / Ecuador) of foreign film producers, and the executive producer of the film “Pain” (2000, directed by Oleg Harrinjar / USA). He was awarded with National film awards “Humay” and “Gızıl Chirag” and prizes of international festivals. He is a member of the Professional Film Directors Guild of Azerbaijan.
