Sharif Gurbanaliyev was born in Baku. Studied at Azerbaijan State Art Institute (1980-1984), Higher Television Directors Course (1990-1991). Worked at Azerbaijan TV and Space TV. He teaches at Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. He is an employee of Azerbaijan TV.
