Telman Mammadov was born on April 22, 1951 in Mingachevir. In 1958-1968, he studied at secondary school No. 44 in Baku. In 1982-1987, he studied cinematography at the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in the workshop of  I.V. Shatrov.  In 1970, he started working as a mechanic at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. He directed many films together with “Azerbaijanfilm”, “Uzbekfilm”, “Tajikfilm”. He worked  in films- “Echo” (1970, short feature film) – as screenwriter, director “Bakhtavar” (1990, short feature film) – as a director of  photography, “Caucasus” (2007, feature film) – a director of  photography  “Sunny Day” ( 2009) documentary etc  worked as a director of  photography.  He currently lives in Moscow.
