Bagirov Vagif son of  Sadig was born on September 2, 1949 in Baku. He entered secondary school number 199 in 1957 and graduated in 1966. In 1967, he was appointed to the position of packer in the “Discovery Shop” at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio.

On October 21, 1968, he served in the army and returned to the film studio in 1970 and was accepted as a mechanic in the cinematographer workshop. In 1975, he worked as a cinematographer’s assistant, and in 1985, he worked as a 3rd grade cinematographer in the scene filming workshop. In 1990, he was awarded the position of cinematographer for shooting on the 1st level, taking into account the films he worked on.

In 1994, he was appointed the head of the shooting workshop of set scenes, and in 1998, the head of the shooting equipment workshop. In 2002, he was released from his position at his own request. He continued his work as a mechanic and in 2008 was again appointed as the head of the photography equipment workshop. In 2000-2006, he taught the art of visual director at the Art Gymnasium named after A. Javad. Since 2013, he has been dismissed from his job due to his retirement. He is honored cultural worker (2009). He is a member of the Inspection Commission of the Professional Film Directors Guild of Azerbaijan (2014).
