Rasim  Ismayilov son of Rza was born in Baku. In childhood, he was interested in aviation and prepared to become a pilot. He did not pass the medical commission while taking the exam for the aviation school. Rasim’s second hobby was photography. In 1958, he started working as a cinematographer’s assistant at the Baku film studio. He studied at the cinematography faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Moscow (1958-1963, Boris Volchek’s course). He worked for some time on Azerbaijan television. Since 1963, he has worked as a picture director at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio, and since 1977 as a director. He taught at Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, wrote fairy tales and stories for children. His book “Flying plane trees” was published after his death.
