Rasim Ojagov, son of  Mirgasim, was born in Sheki. He was interested in photography in his youth. Although he took pictures as an amateur, his dream was to become a geologist. Once a documentary film group came to Shaki. Meanwhile, Rasim, who is seriously engaged in photography, goes to the professionals to see their work. The wonderful world of cinema attracts him so much that the young photographer decides to study this art in depth. He studied at the cinematography faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1951-1956, workshop of B. Golovnya and L. Kosmatov). In 1956, he started working as a  director of photography at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. Later, he graduated from the directing faculty of the Azerbaijan State Art Institute named after M. Aliyev (1977). Since 1973, he has worked as a producer-director. Since 1990, he has been the head of the independent studio “Ojak”. Honored Artist (1967), Chechen-Ingush Honored Artist (1964), People’s Artist (1982), laureate of state awards of Azerbaijan (1980) and USSR (1981) Rasim Ojagov died in 2006.
