Shamil Najazade

Shamil Najafzade, son of Kamil, was born in Baku. He studied at the Art School named after Azim Azimzadeh (1978), the art faculty of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (1984, the studio of Mikhail Bogdanov). Since 1984, he worked as an artist at the “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. He has been working as a director since 1990. He worked as a producer at AzTV “Sabah” Creative Union (1995-1998), artistic guiding ABA TV (1999), chief producer at ANS TV (2000). He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of South Caucasian Independent Film Workers (IFASC), the representative of the International “Caucasus Documentary Film Network” in Azerbaijan, the founder and director of the “Simurg” Studio. He taught at the directing faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts. Honored artist (2006). Shamil Najafzade currently lives outside the country.
