Ziya Shıkhlinski

Ziya Shikhlinski, son of Anvar, was born in Baku. He studied at the Faculty of Philology of Azerbaijan State University (1968-1973), at the Higher Directing and Screenwriting Course in Moscow (1987-1989). He worked as a director’s assistant and second director at “Azerbaijanfilm” film studio. He worked as a director in the film magazines “Soviet Azerbaijan” and “Art and Young Generation” (1985-1987). He is Honored artist (2011). Ziya Shikhlinski was awarded the individual scholarship of the President of Azerbaijan in 2023. He is a member of the Board of the Azerbaijan Professional Film Directors Guild, Azerbaijan Cinematographers Union.
